COVID-19: What is going on at the club right now?
All Clubs are closed. A limited number of our maintenance teams have been preparing for the season by completing essential work. As of Monday, May 4th, the Ontario Government announced golf courses can begin fully preparing for the season. This allows us to further prepare to welcome golfers in the near future.
COVID-19: When do you anticipate opening and would you consider opening just the golf courses even if the clubhouses remain closed?
The timeline is still fluid under the current circumstances with COVID-19. The provincial government has recently outlined criteria around coronavirus mitigation that would allow a phased approach to opening up businesses. As of Monday, May 4th, golf courses are permitted to prepare the golf courses for the season but cannot open yet. We are hopeful an open date will be announced in short order. We will be ready at that time.
COVID-19: Will it be safe to play golf and what protocols will you have in place to mitigate risk of contracting COVID-19?
While risk can’t be 100% mitigated, our top priority is to keep employees, members and guests safe in all situations. Operations will be modified significantly and a new set of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) will be implemented. Highlights include:
- Please stay home if you have traveled recently or feel un well
- Golfers must pre-book before arriving on property (no walk up play)
- Golfers to arrive on property no earlier than 20 minutes prior to a pre-booked tee time to minimize the number of people in staging areas at all times prior to play
- Clubhouse dining areas will remain closed
- Practice facilities will remain closed
- Physical distancing must be strictly upheld at all times
- Green fees will be prepaid whenever possible. Debit and credit will be the only accepted forms of payment at the club (carts, confectionary etc).
- Prepaid certificates will be accepted through the phone only, the certificate must be provided at time of booking
- Ball washers, benches and bunker rakes will be removed
- Frequent cleaning and disinfecting of surfaces and equipment that golfers come in contact with
The full SOP along with expectations for golfers will be made available when opening is announced.
COVID-19: Will my spring certificates be extended beyond May 22?
We will extend all spring certificates (previously set to expire on May 22nd) to be valid until May 31st, and again from October 1st, 2020 - May 31st, 2021, with the same access restrictions (Monday-Friday anytime, not valid on Holidays). We will also be announcing some additional redemption opportunities from June 1st - September 31st to give our members maximum flexibility to take advantage of their bonus round(s).
COVID-19: What about my regular certificates? Will those be extended into 2021 too?
Yes. We would encourage everyone to enjoy as much golf as possible in the 2020 season. However, we will extend expiry through June of 2021 for Players Club certificates purchased in 2020.
COVID-19: Can I visit any of the clubs at all right now?
Our Clubs are completely closed to visitors. Out of an abundance of caution, and concern for the health and safety of our employees, members and guests. At this time, we discourage our Players Club Members and guests from visiting our Clubs for any reason. We will make an announcement of our opening dates, as soon as we are permitted to do so. We remain available for email or phone correspondence. You can contact us via email at firstname.lastname@example.org or phone at 1-800-276-9542.
